Decker Forrest began piping in San Diego, California, and played in the L.A. Scots Pipe Band when they won the Grade 2 World Championship in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1997. His tunes, After Curfew and Huntington Beach Park appear in the Purple Land Collection. Decker currently runs an undergraduate course in Gaelic and Traditional Music at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Scotland's Gaelic college on the Isle of Skye.
