The Margo Naismith Highland Dance Competition celebrates the memory of a dear friend, teacher, and mentor that gave so much to Highland Dancing. The event is held annually in March and is a one day event. Various special awards such as the Margo Naismith Memorial Award are presented here through the sponsorship of Vortex Street Music Philanthropy, Inc. 

The competition was formerly known as The Celtic Festival and was held in Balboa Park under the direction of Margo Naismith for numerous decades. 

The 2024 Margo Naismith Highland Dance Competition will not be held this year.
